Chapter 7 Maintenance

Cleaning Procedure

The BP360 can be cleaned using rags and common machine cleaners and de-greasers. It is not designed for a wash down
process using hoses or pressure cleaning equipment. Damage to the motors and electrical circuits will result from a wash
down or pressure cleaning process.

Hydraulic System

The hydraulic system on the BP360 operates at 2000 PSIG. Periodic inspection of hoses and fittings is recommended to
ensure proper operation and to prevent system leaks.
The fluid level in the sump can be observed from the sight glass, which also shows fluid temperature. Always check that
the sump is full prior to operation. Low oil level in the sump can cause low system pressure and improper machine
operation. Fill only with ISO 32 grade hydraulic oil.
The machine was filled with hydraulic fluid at the factory and cycle tested. The shipping process may have caused the
fluid to drain out of the pump head and back into the sump. THE PUMP HEAD MUST BE PRIMED WITH HYDRAULIC
FLUID PRIOR TO OPERATION. This is accomplished by removing the hex plug on the pump head labeled "OIL" and filling
with a small amount of ISO 32 oil.

Limit Switches

The limit switches on the machine have been set at the factory for proper machine operation. The arms on the switches
may need periodic adjustment or replacement as they wear. The arms can be removed and adjusted using the hex key
set screw that clamps the arm to the switch post. If the switch does not make a clicking noise when the post is rotated,
then it is broken and must be replaced. Check the operation of the limit switches and the condition of the arms if the
machine fails to operate correctly. Replacement switches and arms are available from the factory.

Lubrication

The hydraulic pump motor requires periodic lubrication using shear stabilized polyurea or compatible grease. The time
between lubrication depends on the frequency of use and severity of the environment of the machine.

Preventive Maintenance

A careful inspection of the BP360 for hydraulic fluid leaks and correct operations functions at time of installation will
start its long satisfactory life of service. In order to insure this degree of dependability, a systematic maintenance
program is recommended. The follow schedule is suggested as a minimum:

Daily

Check temperature of hydraulic fluid
Check hydraulic fluid level
Check ice block quality
