Hydraulic Pressure Switch

Hydraulic pressure switch PS-100 controls the compacting pressure applied to the block during forming. It is a normally
closed switch that opens when the fluid pressure in the hydraulic lines reach the set point. When the switch closes, it
energizes TDR-1, the time delay relay that controls the amount of time that the ice block is held under pressure.

Time Delay Relays

The BP360 has two (2) time delay relays: TDR-1 and TDR-2.
TDR-1 is an "ON" delay relay that is energized by the hydraulic pressure switch. It holds the compacting
pressure on the ice block for a period that is adjustable from 0.1 seconds to 10 seconds. After the period
passes, the relay times out, de-energizes DV-101, and retracts the opposing cylinder. Holding the ice block
under pressure improves the quality of the block. If the block does not compact, and only pushes ice out of
the compacting chamber, increase the delay slightly.
TDR-2 is an "OFF" delay relay that energizes the water injection solenoid for a period that is adjustable from
2 seconds to 10 seconds. TDR-2 is energized by LS-4 when the main cylinder is fully retracted, and has just
been reversed.
