While the DPF regeneration inhibit switch is
depressed, the DPF regeneration start switch
is disabled. To enable DPF regeneration start
switch, turn off the DPF regeneration inhibit
switch.
When to Perform DPF Switch
Regeneration
If the DPF warning light comes on, the DPF
could not satisfactorily complete automatic
regeneration and driver action is required.
When the DPF warning light is turned on, it
means you must perform the "Switch"
regeneration procedure soon. If you
continue driving too long with the DPF
warning light on or flashing, without
performing the DPF regeneration, the engine
check warning light will also come on.
If both lights are on at the same time, find
a safe place to pull over and park the
vehicle as soon as possible, and perform the
Switch regeneration procedure immediately.
Continuing to drive, without performing DPF
regeneration, will cause the engine stop
warning light to come on, engine power
may be reduced and may damage the DPF
filter.

Switch Regeneration Procedure
Select this option if "Automatic"
regeneration is not possible or when the
DPF warning light is displayed.
1. Stop the vehicle at a safe place free of
flammable material such as dead grass,
leaves or waste paper.
Driving and Operating
Warning
To prevent a fire, make sure that there is
no flammable material near the muffler,
DPF and exhaust pipe. Remember that
the temperature of exhaust gases is high
enough to burn you. You and others
could be seriously injured.
2. Move the selector lever into the "P"
position (models with P-range) or "N"
position (models without P-range) and
engage the parking brake.
3. Let the engine idle. Be sure the
accelerator pedal is not depressed and
the PTO switch (if equipped) is "OFF".
4. Press and release the DPF regeneration
start switch.
