  • Page 7 Chapter U N I Q U E U G P Installation For best performance at high ambient temperatures, there must be free air circulation over the cooling unit at the rear of the refrigerator. Ensure that there is a free air space above the refrigerator and that the flue (chimney) on top of the cabinet is not covered in any way.

    Chapter U N I Q U E U G P General Operating Instructions Importance of Leveling a Refrigerator The refrigerator must be adjusted to a vertical position in both directions. In an absorption refrigeration system, ammonia is liquefied in the finned condenser coil at the top rear of the refrigerator.

    U N I Q U E U G P 1. Min Setting on the Gas Thermostat: In gas operation, the thermostat closes its main port and the burner runs continuously at the bypass rate or pilot flame (turn fully counter clockwise).
  • Page 13 U N I Q U E U G P defrost the refrigerator. It will not hurt the fridge to have the ice buildup, if it gets too thick with will act as an insulator and hamper the cooling ability of the fridge. Defrosting can be done with the fridge running if so desired.
  • Page 14 U N I Q U E U G P Interior Light The interior light is located inside the fridge compartment, at the upper middle part of the fridge. It can be removed/replaced by popping off the cover and unscrewing the light socket. 4 x “AA” size batteries operate the interior light. The battery compartment is located on the exterior back of the fridge.

    Chapter U N I Q U E U G P Maintenance & Service The user should be aware of service that must be done on a regular schedule to keep the refrigerator operating properly. Installation must be by a licensed gas fitter in accordance with local codes or must comply with Propane Installation Code CAN/CGA-B149.2 (latest edition).

Please note that there are hazards against which CO detection may not be effective, such as gas leaks or explosions. The ultimate responsibility for protection against toxic CO fumes rests solely on you.
  • Page 24 U N I Q U E U G P When properly located, installed, and maintained, this CO alarm is designed to provide early warning of developing poisonous CO conditions at a reasonable cost. This alarm monitors the air, and when it senses CO, it activates its built-in alarm.

  • Page 26 U N I Q U E U G P Step A: Wall Alignment Step B: Alarm Activation Step C: Removal and Installation Figure 2: Installation Instructions To insure aesthetic alignment of the alarm with the hallway or wall, the UP ↑ arrow on the mounting plate must be vertical when wall mounting: (See Step A in Figure 2) As described in Figure 2, attach the mounting plate on the wall.

To use the pin insert it into the hole in the side of the alarm after the alarm has been installed on the mounting plate (See Figure 3).

  • Page 30 Chapter Chapter U N I Q U E U G P Door Removal & Reversal Instructions This appliance has the capability of either opening the door from the left or right side. The unit is delivered to you with the door opening from the left side, to the right. Should you desire to reverse the opening direction, please follow these instructions.
  • Page 31 U N I Q U E U G P Lift off the freezer door from the middle hinge and place it on a padded surface to prevent scratching and remove the plug from the right top side of the freezer door and move it to the left.
  • Page 32 U N I Q U E U G P Pop off the three plugs that are located on the left side of the fridge cabinet from where the middle hinge will be transferred to and plug them into the right side where you just removed the middle hinge.
  • Page 33 U N I Q U E U G P Remove hinge bung from top of fridge door and bottom of freezer door, these hinge bungs will be used on opposite doors in order to complete the reversal. The fridge bung will be fastened to the bottom left of the freezer door and the freezer bung will be located on the top left of the fridge door.
  • Page 34 U N I Q U E U G P Find the top hinge, move the hinge pin from the right side of the top hinge to the left. Place the top hinge pin into the top of the freezer door and align the hinge with the 4 holes at the top of the cabinet.
  • Page 35 Chapter U N I Q U E U G P Temperature Controls Note: Maximum setting is override; therefore the thermostat function is not operational at this setting. This setting is usually only required during very hot and humid days. If you turn the thermostat all the way counter clockwise to minimum it will stay there, your fridge will go into defrost if the room temperature rises high enough.
