Knife removal/installation
To install the knives, proceed as follows:
1.
Install the knives in the knife drawer
(1).
NOTE: Make sure the knife is properly
seated with the notch well engaged over the
holding shaft below the pre-compression
chamber bottom. Rock the knife back and
forth several times to double check.
2.
Roll the knife drawer (1) back into the
knife drawer frame and secure with the
knife drawer lock (3).
3.
Make sure the lock-out valve is open.
4.
Lift the knife drawer frame, by means
of the tractor hydraulic control valve,
until the latching hooks (2)
automatically engage.
NOTE: Check that the latching hooks (2) are
really well engaged and secured with the
safety lock (4). If not, free the linkages by
lubricating them.
5.
Close the lock-out valve (1).
6.
Engage/retract the knives as required
and begin normal operation.
Note: False knives come with the baler from
factory. When there is no need for cutting,
place the blank knives in the slots to prevent
any blockages.
