The milk container has been inserted with
the froth adjustment dial (D1) in the "CLEAN"
position.
The machine must be descaled.

The water softener filter (C4) is exhausted.

The inside of the appliance is very dirty.
The appliance needs descaling and/or the filter
(C4) must be replaced.
The tubes inside the milk container (D) must
be cleaned.
The filter (C4) must be replaced.
The machine must be descaled.
The auto-start function is enabled.
Energy saving is enabled.
Turn the dial to the required froth position.
Press "OK " to start descaling or "
to descale later. The descaling procedure de-
scribed in section needs to be performed "16.
Descaling".
Press "OK " to replace or remove the filter,
or " ESC" to carry out the procedure later.
Follow the instructions in section "18. Water
softener filter".
Clean the inside of the appliance thoroughly,
as described in section "15. Cleaning". If the
message is still displayed after cleaning, con-
tact a service centre.
The descaling procedure described in section
"16. Descaling" needs to be performed and/or
the filter needs replacing or removing as descri-
bed in section "18. Water softener filter".
Turn the froth adjustment dial (D1) to CLEAN
(fig. 20).
Replace the filter or remove it as described in
section "18. Water softener filter".
The descaling procedure described in section
"16. Descaling" needs to be performed.
The appliance may request descaling cycles at
very short intervals. This is normal and due to
the appliance's advanced control system.
