  • Page 30 Always use a floor jack, hoist or fork lift to lift and raise heavy parts. Read and understand the entire Assembly Section instructions before attempting to mount your Tiger mower. Refer to the Parts Section of this manual for detailed illustrations to locate all parts.
  • Page 31 ASSEMBLY CRANKSHAFT ADAPTER INSTALL Before installing the crankshaft adapter on the JD5075E, loosen (but do not remove) the tractor’s cooling unit fasteners and slide the cooling unit forward as much as possible without removing any attached hoses or cables.   • Page 32 ASSEMBLY CRANKSHAFT ADAPTER INSTALL, CONT. 1) Remove plastic cover over flywheel access at left, rear of engine, front of flywheel housing. 2) Use Crankshaft Turning tool #JDE83 to turn flywheel in “engine operating direction” (turn tool counter-clockwise when viewing aft into flywheel housing) until timing pin engages timing hole in flywheel.

Evenly tighten two (2) Cap Screws 90° from the first two (2) Cap Screws, and torque to 24.3 Ft-Lbs. Always tighten Collet Cap Screws in pairs across from each other. 19) If necessary, repeat the torqueing of the Collet Cap Screws until all are torqued to 24.3 Ft.-Lbs.

  • Page 35 ASSEMBLY DRIVESHAFT AND FRONT PUMP MOUNTING Install driveshaft into the crankshaft adapter. Slide splined driveshaft coupler onto the pump driveshaft. Install the pump onto the mounting bracket. NOTE: the pump is offset to one direction and the pump should be installed with the offset side on top.
  • Page 36 ASSEMBLY CABLE CONTROL INSTALLATION The switchbox is attached to the cross member on the front of the cab, to the right of the steering console. Cables are routed to the right of the driver’s seat. See the illustration in the Parts Section for hardware used and more information.
  • Page 37 ASSEMBLY LEFT AND RIGHT MAINFRAME MOUNTING Position the left and right side frameworks as shown below. Raise up to the matching mounting holes in the tractor and rear axle housing. Install the clamp plate with capscrews, washers and nuts as shown in the Tractor Mount Kit pages of the Parts Section. Apply Loctite to the threads and torque to the values noted in the torque chart located in the Maintenance Section of this manual.
  • Page 38 ASSEMBLY APPLICATION OF LOCTITE 2047 MOWER MAINFRAME MOUNTING BOLTS All mower mainframe mounting bolts shall be secured utilizing Loctite 2047 and torqued per the Torque Chart in the maintenance section. Shake bottle for 60 seconds before use. To prevent clogging of nozzle, do not allow tip to touch metal surfaces during application.
  • Page 39 JD5075E tractor has three remote valves available. (ASM-JD-0068) A relief valve is located on the Tiger framework to control hydraulic pressure going to the mower cylinders. More information on hoses and adapters is available in the Parts Section of this manual.
  • Page 40 ASSEMBLY FENDER CUT FOR WHEEL WELL TANK A notch will have to be cut into the left rear fender to allow room for the hydraulic tank filler neck. The notch should be cut as shown below to allow room for the filler neck and easy visual access to the temperature gauge.

NOTE: Starting or running your Tiger mower before filling reservoir will cause serious damage to the hydraulic pump.   • Page 43 ASSEMBLY DRAFT BEAM INSTALLATION Install ½” O-ring breather into butt port of inboard cylinder. Install fittings in the rod end of the cylinder according to the diagram in the Common Parts section. These fittings should be positioned to face the butt end of the cylinder. The inboard cylinder can now be installed into the main frame mast with the pin, flatwasher and R-clip as shown below.
  • Page 44 ASSEMBLY MOWER MOUNTING Check that all grease zerks have been installed in the draft beams pivot arm, left linkage arm, right linkage arm, and cylinder mounting ears. Using a clevis pin and roll pins, connect the pivot arm to clevis on draft beam. NOTE: Make sure the longer distance between the cutout and the end of the pivot arm is closest to the draft beam pivot ears on the center tube as shown in the diagram below.
  • Page 45 ASSEMBLY DECK / MOTOR FEEDLINE Install the 1” hoses from the motor to the solenoid valve. Refer to the Parts Section for detailed information about hoses and fittings for this application. Install split hoses around hydraulic hoses where they contact sharp edges, or any other edges that may rub hoses.
  • Page 46 ASSEMBLY FINAL PREPARATION FOR OPERATION Place operator’s safety and operation decals on the steering column and side console where they are clearly visible to the operator. These decals should be understood by each operator of the machine in conjunction with the Safety and Operation Sections of this book. The decals are to be maintained in good condition as a reminder to the operator, and should be replaced if damaged.

Blades contacting the ground may cause objects to be thrown out from under the mower deck. Always avoid operating the mower at a height which causes the blades to contact the ground.

  • Page 96 MAINTENANCE DRIVE SHAFT YOKE, U-JOINT STUB SHAFT With engine stopped, inject Lithium-Complex extreme pressure grease conforming to NLGI2-ISO 320 specifications into universal joints and slip yoke until grease appears at the seal. Grease them daily or every 8 hours. ADJUSTING THE CABLE LIFT Extend the outboard cylinder until the mower deck touches its stop on the draft beam as shown.
  • Page 97 MAINTENANCE ADJUSTING THE CUTTING HEIGHT Loosen the four ground roller bracket locknuts. Loosen the adjustment rod locknut and turn the adjustment rod to adjust the cutting height. The cutting height is indicated by the end of the adjustment rod on the cutting h eight decal. Whe n cutting height has been achieved, tighten the ground roller bracket locknuts and the adjustment rod locknut securely.

Normal conditions require one or two pumps in each bearing, using Lithium-Complex Extreme Pressure grease conforming NLGI2-ISO specifications. This is to be done with a st andard grease gun daily or at 8 hour intervals.

Turn the adjusting nut until the washer between the spring and nuts are flush with the spring housing or g uide. Tighten locking nut securely. For standard cut on side flail a djust until the spring washer is flush with the top of the spring housing.
