TQ3-20 Toast-Qwik
Conveyor Toasters are designed for ease
®
of operation. Perform the following procedure to operate the
toaster.
WARNING
Read all safety messages in the IMPORTANT SAFETY
INFORMATION section before operating this equipment.
BURN HAZARD:
• Some exterior surfaces on unit will get hot. Use caution
when touching these areas.
• Do not remove crumb tray for cleaning until toaster is
cool.
Always operate toaster with crumb tray installed.
Toasting of coated or buttered products such as garlic
bread, cheese sandwiches, and sweet rolls is NOT
recommended. Residue will reduce toaster performance
and could ignite inside toaster. Using toaster with food
products listed above will void unit warranty.

Operating the Toaster

Startup
1. Plug the unit into a properly grounded electrical receptacle.
Make sure the electrical receptacle matches the plug
on the unit and the supply voltage matches the unit
specification label.
2. Move the toast feed ramp to the desired position.
• For automatic feeding, move the toast feed ramp to
the automatic feed position. Bread products enter the
toaster by placing them on the toast feed ramp and
releasing.
• For manual feeding, rotate the toast feed ramp up until
it rests on top of the unit. Bread products can be loaded
manually by placing directly on the conveyor belt.

3. Move the Power I/O (on/off) Switch to the I (on) position.
4. Press the appropriate selector key for the desired toasting
setting. Once a selection is made, the indicator light above
the key will illuminate.
• To toast both sides of the bread, press the "Bread" ( )
key.
• To toast the top of the bread only, press the "Bun" (
key.
5. Turn the Color Control knob to the medium position while
the unit heats up.
NOTE: Allow approximately 15 to 20 minutes for a warm-up
period.
6. After warm-up period on the initial setup, toast two slices
of bread product. Re-adjust the Color Control knob as
necessary to reach the desired toast color.
NOTE: To toast moist products such as English muffins, rye
bread, or whole wheat, slow the conveyor by turning
the Color Control knob to a darker setting (clockwise).
All TQ3-20 toasters can be put into a Power Save mode
by pressing the PowerSave (
conveyor will speed up temporarily for approximately four
seconds to eject toast from the unit. The toaster will operate at
50% power in PowerSave mode.
NOTE: To place toaster back into full operation, press the
key. The unit will be back up and ready for toasting
within 5 minutes.

NOTE: If the Warning Light on the control panel comes on, the
unit may be overheating due to fan failure/blockage.
Turn off and unplug the unit. Contact an Authorized
Service Agent or Hatco for assistance.
Shutdown
1. Move the Power I/O (on/off) Switch to the O (off) position.
• The heating elements and the conveyor will shut off.
