- Page 7 ADJUSTING THE REAR BEARING If the yer has been correctly installed rear (see Step 9 above) but does not spin when bearing you treadle, check for a gap of about screw 1/16" between the front bearing and the shoulder of the yer shaft. If there is no gap, use a #2 Phillips screwdriver to loosen the screw in the rear maiden (Figure 9).
