    The operator must ensure that the users are regularly trained in the operation and safe handling of the device. Instruments/accessories Use original accessories from MELAG. MELAG does not provide a guarantee for non-MELAG accessories, even if they are in possession of validation.

    ME10704 The Carebox Blue/Green is used to reprocess instruments and hollow bodies in the Careclave 618. The instruments must be fixed on the adapters provided for this purpose. It is not possible to reprocess instruments that are not fixed on adapters.

  • Page 7: Preparation And Pre-Cleaning

    Observe the type of Carebox (Blue/Green) when loading. Instruments which may not be cared for (oiled) belong in the Carebox Green. Instruments which require care belong in the Carebox Blue. Observe the following when loading the Carebox: The instruments are contaminated after treatment and have sharp edges and tips. Use suitable protective gloves when loading the Carebox.
  • Page 8 3 Carebox Place the Carebox into the unclean area of the reprocessing room. Insert the transmission instruments onto the adapters as far as they will go, see Adapter installation [} page 16]. Ê The heads point sideways to the edge. Ê The instrument engages audibly and noticeably. For Sirona T1 Classic: Align the transmission instrument so that the connections of the spray channels match the receptacles provided in the adapter.

    3 Carebox Removing instruments and hollow bodies CAUTION Danger of burns from hot parts and hot condensate. Comply with the following for safe handling: To ensure safe removal of the instruments and hollow bodies, check whether they have cooled down sufficiently. If instruments and hollow bodies have detached from the adapters, reprocess them again.

    3 Carebox PLEASE NOTE The transmission instruments are dried by compressed air/vacuum drying of the inner channels. The result of the drying process strongly depends on the type and design of the instruments. Check the drying result of the transmission instruments and, if necessary, dry them with medical compressed air after removal.

    4 Adapter for the Carebox Adapter for Midwest connection (4/5 hole) art. no. ME02609 Adapters for Carebox Green General adapters Adapter M8x1, concentric art. no. ME22406 Intended use The adapter is used to load an unused connection of the Carebox Green. All M8x1 adapters that are compatible with the Carebox Green can be loaded.

    4 Adapter for the Carebox Adapter installation The following must be fulfilled or present: ü The adapters for transmission instruments, hollow-body instruments or unused connections. ü One new sealing washer, one new O-ring and screws for each adapter. ü One TX6 screwdriver. Loosen and remove the screws of the existing adapter.

Instructions for installing and using the adapter for external spray channels It is recommended to install the external spray channel adapter in position 3 or 6 so that the external spray channels can be well connected to the hoses.

    5 Measuring device 5 Measuring device Intended use Article Art. no. Measuring device ME21273 The measuring device is used for functional testing of the Carebox and its supply channels in the Careclave 618. It is needed for the  Carebox test and must be used together with the Carebox. PLEASE NOTE The measuring device is only temperature resistant up to 100 °C and can therefore not be sterilised.

    6 Mounts for loading the sterilization chamber 6 Mounts for loading the sterilization chamber Intended use The mounts serve the acceptance of trays, MELAstore Boxes or sterilization containers. Comply with the following for safe handling: Hold the mount level when removing it from the steam sterilizer. Otherwise, the load could slide off. Make sure that the mount does not slip out unintentionally when the mount is loaded directly in the steam sterilizer or when the load is removed separately from the steam sterilizer.
