EQUIPMENT MISUSE HAZARD
Equipment misuse can cause the equipment to rupture, malfunction, or start unexpectedly and result
INSTRUCTIONS
in serious injury.
D This equipment is for professional use only.
D Read all instruction manuals, tags, and labels before operating the equipment.
D Use the equipment only for its intended purpose. If you are uncertain about usage, call your Graco
distributor.
D Only use the PrecisionFlo Metering Valve with the PrecisionFlo Control.
D Do not alter or modify this equipment. Use only genuine Graco parts and accessories.
D Check the equipment daily. Repair or replace worn or damaged parts immediately.
D Do not disassemble the Metering Valve motor. The motor contains powerful magnets, which could
attract metal objects and create a hazardous condition if the motor end plates are removed. Con-
tact your Graco distributor for motor service.
D Do not exceed the maximum working pressure of the lowest rated system component. This equip-
ment has a 3500 psi (24 MPa, 240 bar) maximum working pressure.
D Route the hoses away from the traffic areas, sharp edges, moving parts, and hot surfaces. Do not
expose Graco hoses to temperatures above 180_F (82_C) or below –40_F (–40_C).
D Do not use the hoses to pull the equipment.
D Use fluids that are compatible with the equipment wetted parts. See the Technical Data section of
all the equipment manuals. Read the fluid manufacturer's warnings.
D Comply with all applicable local, state and national fire, electrical and other safety regulations.
D Do not touch the metal heat sink when the surface is hot.
D Do not cover the Metering Valve; the motor needs air ventilation.
TOXIC FLUID HAZARD
Hazardous fluids or toxic fumes can cause serious injury or death if splashed in the eyes or on the
skin, swallowed, or inhaled.
D Know the specific hazards of the fluid you are using. Read the fluid manufacturer's warnings.
D Provide fresh air ventilation to avoid the buildup of vapors from the fluid being dispensed.
D Store hazardous fluid in an approved container. Dispose of hazardous fluid according to all local,
state and national guidelines.
D Wear the appropriate protective clothing, gloves, eyewear, and respirator.
MOVING PARTS HAZARD
Moving parts, such as the fluid needle, can pinch fingers. Parts of the Metering Valve are spring-
loaded and parts may fly out or spring apart when the valve is disassembled and cause serious injury,
including eye injuries.
D Do not operate the equipment with the guard removed.
D Keep clear of any moving parts when starting or operating the equipment.
D Wear eye protection during all service procedures.
