Probable causes
3.1 Insufficient flow rate of the
electric pump.
3.2 The automatic monitoring
devices (level switch, etc.)
fail to enable the pump to stop.
4.1 Air enters through the suction
mouth.
4.2 The motor turns in the wrong
direction (three-phase version
and FLV).
4.3 Worn electric pump.
4.4 Electric pump partially clogged.
4.5 Delivery pipe or valve partially
clogged.
4.6 Gate valve partially closed.
5.1 Electric pump unprimed owing
to insufficient fluid level.
5.2 Electric pump excessively
worn or clogged hydraulics.
5.3 Delivery pipe or valve clogged.
5.4 Gate valve closed.
6.1 Plant installed incorrectly.
6.2 Hydraulics excessively worn.
6.3 Liquid contains an excessive
amount of solids.
7.1 The blades are not well sharped.
7.2 The motor turns in the wrong
direction.
8.1. The voltage is wrong.
8.2. The brushes are worn out.
Remedies
3.1 Check whether the right pump
has been selected.

3.2. See 1.3.
4.1 Increase the level of liquid
around the suction mouth.
4.2 Invert two of the three phases
for three-phase pumps. Invert
the polarity for the FLV pumps.
4.3 Inspect the electric pump
hydraulics.
4.4 Clean the strainer for the
FDR-FDP series. Pump clear
water to flush. Also consult 4.3.
4.5 Pump clear water through the
pipe to flush or demount it if
necessary.
4.6 Open the gate valve.
5.1 See 4.1.
5.2 See 4.3.
5.3 See 4.5.
5.4 Open the gate valve.
6.1 See 4.1.

6.3 Check whether the right electric
pump has been chosen.
