INTRODUCTION
The new EM-535 NS Geode™ GXm embedded SBC is a great choice for any multimedia applications.
The NS Geode™ processor and its companion CX5530 chipset support up to 256MB memory and

EM-535 features Flat Panel/CRT display functions that support resolutions and color depths up to
1024x768 at 64K colors, TV-output for NTSC and PAL modes, and sound functions.
And the Realtek
8139 chip provides PCI Fast Ethernet for network connectivity.
EM-535 has many expansion options, including one PCI expansion connector, one CompacatFlash
socket, one PCMCIA socket and a socket for DiskOnChip 2000.
Other on-board features include one
PCI Enhanced IDE ports for up to four IDE and Ultra DMA-33 devices, four 16550 serial ports, two
multi-mode parallel ports, two USB ports and one IrDA interface.
For any all-in-one boards like the EM535, most other similar products require customers to install many
cables and adapters for various I/O's like VGA, USB, Audio, serial and parallel ports. That would cause
messy and difficult tasks for users to implement on such a tiny and compact board area.
However, EM-535 does provide a great solution to save our customers from such headaches. With a
pre-defined and pre-installed connector setup, it not only provides a very neat signal interface but also
offers a vibration proof advantage. In turn, our customers will have a more solid foundation for their
products and projects based upon EM-535.
