Suggested pump settings:
• AUTO mode is used to automatically adjust pump
performance according to actual heat demand
of the system. Because performance adjustment
proceeds gradually, it is suggested that the pump
be set in AUTO mode for at least one week before
you customize the settings.
• GPA-II series motor pump can continue automatic
performance adjustment according to stored settings
with the last settings of AUTO mod (if selected)
• The pump can switch from the optimum settings
to other customized settings.
• Heating systems are slow performance systems
which will not reach the optimum capacity in minutes
or hours. If the optimum mode cannot provide the
desired heat distribution for each room, change
the pump settings.
• The relationship of the pump settings and perfor-
mance curve: see Section 10. 1.
8. Bypass-valve system installed between inlet
water pipeline and return water pipeline
8.1. Application (fig. 8. 1 )
Bypass valve
Function: When all valves in the floor heating return
pipeline or radiator temperature control valves are
closed, it' s heat from the boiler can be distributed.

"Min-Max" Curve
• bypass valve
• flow meter at L.
With all valves closed, the flow must be kept at
minimum. The pump setting depends on type of
bypass valve installed (manual valve or temperature
control valve).
8.2. Manual Valve
Steps:
1. To adjust the bypass valve, the pump should be
set at Min. System flow must be kept minimum - refer
to bypassvalve instruction.
2. After adjusting the bypass valve, set the pump
by referring to Chapter 10 (Pump settings and
Performance).
8.3. Automatic Bypass-valve (Temperature
Control)
Steps:
1. During bypass valve adjustment, the pump is set
at Min and the system works on minimum flow. Refer
to bypass-valve instructions.
2. During bypass valve adjustment, the pump is set
at minimum or works in maximum constant pressure
mode. Relationship of settings to performance curve:
refer to Chapter 10 (Pump Settings and Performance)
9.
Start
9.1. Preparation
Before starting the pump, make sure that the system
is filled with liquid air has been drained and inlet
pressure is set at minimum - please refer to Section 3.
9.2. Air draining (fig. 9.2)
GPA-II series motor pump is fitted with an exhaust
function. Air draining is not necessary before startup.
The presence of air in the pump may generate noise
that will disappear after several minutes from startup.
GPA-II series motor pump can be set in Max Speed
for a short time, to drain off air rapidly, according
to system mode and design. When air has been
drained and the noise has disappeared, set the pump
according to the applicable instructions.
CAUTION
Don't run the pump without medium.
9.3. Air draining for a heating system (fig. 9.3)
10.
Pump settings and performance
10.1. Settings vs. performance (fig. 10. 1 )
Function
"Auto-adaptation" function will automatically
adjust pump performance to the standard range.
Pump performance will be adjusted to system
scale. Pump performance will also be adjusted
to long-term load variations. For rated pressure
control, the pump is set in „auto-adaptation"
mode.
At constant speed, the pump operates on the
constant curve. Pump will operate at "Min-Max"
speed in any working condition.
