6. Inspection and maintenance

6.1 Inspection

Initial adjustments should be made to suit personal comfort. Be sure to follow these checks and maintenance
procedures:-

Secure but easy to release; adjustment levers engage properly.

Pivot point free of wear and looseness.

Inspect for rips or sagging.

Seat secured to the power chair frame.
Inspect seat release latches

Drive wheel
Mounting bolts are secure
No excessive side movement or binding when lifted and spun
when disengaged (free-wheeling)

Caster assemblies
Bolts are tight.
Inspect caster assembly for proper tension by spinning caster
assembly; caster assembly should come to a gradual stop.
Attention: As with any power chair, the wheels and
tyres should be checked periodically for cracks and
wear, and replaced if necessary.
