Introducing the DocuPrint 900/1300

Post-Processing Options

The Docuprint 900/1300 is a transaction processing printer custom configured
for various production facilities. Depending on the print application
requirements, various in-line post-processing equipment options are available,
these include:
Rewinder—produces rolls (up to 50 inches in diameter) of printed output,
to be further processed by collators, inserters, or other finishing
equipment.
Registration unit—allows the web to be registered to the finishing
equipment, such as the trimmer/cutter/stacker and perforator/punch
processor.
Trimmer/Cutter/Stacker w/Merger—performs multiple functions: slits the
web edges, trimming excess paper or unwanted pin feed holes, and slits
the web into two, cutting a 17 inch web into two 8.5 inch webs (an A3
into two A4 webs); sheets the web to the desired length; merges one cut
sheet on top of the other; and stacks the cut sheets into piles.
Pack ejection stacker (book offset pack ejection)—performs multiple
functions: slits the web edges, trimming excess paper or unwanted pin
feed holes, and slits the web into two, cutting a 17 inch web into two 8.5
inch webs (an A3 into two A4 webs); sheets the web to the desired length;
and ejects stacks of cut sheets into offset piles.
Accumulator—collects the web while the pack ejection stacker slows to
process a pack of sheets.
Perforator/Punch processor—perforates the web to facilitate folding, and
can punch pin feed holes or file holes.
Fan folder—fan-folds the printed output.
Refer to the appropriate vendor documentation for post-processing equipment
operation and maintenance.

Roll to Roll
Input rolls of plain or preprinted stock are supplied to the unwinder. The
DocuPrint 900/1300 will register to the input web and duplex image the
variable data. The printed images are then fused by the radiant fuser. The
output pacer is used to establish the necessary web tension from the radiant
fuser to the rewinder.
Roll to Sheet
Rolls of plain or preprinted stock are printed and fused. The output pacer is
(with Merger)
used to establish the necessary web tension from the radiant fuser to the
registration unit. The printed web feeds into the trimmer/cutter/stacker where
it is cut to the proper length. The output can be merged and stacked in high
piles. A typical output sheet might be 8
Unlike the previous configuration, this configuration ejects stacks of cut

(Book Offset)
sheets into book offset piles. As the pack ejection stacker slows to process a
pack, the accumulator collects the web until the stacker is ready to process the
next pack. The accumulated web is then supplied to the registration unit and
into the pack ejection stacker. The stacker then trims, slits, and sheets the web
and ejects a stack of cut sheets.
