4.1. General Information
Warning:
Installation instructions given below are to be observed in order to
guarantee a perfect functioning and a safe operation of the water meter.
Please read this guide prior to installing the water meter. The water meter is designed
for use with potable water for commercial and industrial activities. The meters must be
stored in a dry, cool place, free of contamination. Please make sure that during installation
all hygienic standards and recommendations are respected.
Woltmann Water Meter operates by measuring the flow velocity. Please make sure the
Woltmann Water Meter has been properly installed in compliance with the following
suggestions so as to achieve precise measurement.
Permissible Operating Conditions:
 Water Temperature Range: 0.1° to 30°
 Pressure stage: 16 bar
 Mechanical class: M1
 Electromagnetic Class: E1
 Climatic class: 5° to 55°
 Meters have to be installed in a stress free condition.
 Please also note the directions in accordance with:
EN 14154-2005 (water meter-part 2, installation and requirements for usage)
ISO 4064:2014-5 (installation requirements)
4.2. Installation Instruction
A. Safety Tips
 No mechanical stresses may be exerted on the meter when installed in the pipeline. The
pipeline flanges must align with the meter flanges and the distance between the flanges
must match the meter body length. Mis-alignment stresses can cause the meter body or
flanges to crack. When the pipeline is under pressure this can cause flooding.
 The meter must not be subjected to pressures higher than the pressure rating printed on
the meter. Too high pressure can cause leaks or burst the meter body.
