8.1. SYNCHRONOUS BOOST CONVERTER

Connect buck/boost filter board to the motherboard using the 5 screws and terminal nuts on
the motherboard (Figure 43).
Plug the fan from the buck/boost filter board into the motherboard.
Connect a fixed load resistor to prevent output overvoltage. A maximum 1k resistor with
sufficient power rating for the desired output voltage is recommended.
SELECT A CONTROL OPTION
1. External Function Generator
Connect function generator to "HS IN" and "LS IN" BNC connectors
Set the two 3-pin jumpers near the BNC connectors to the "BNC" setting
Ensure dead-time is provided between the input signals. 200 ns minimum is a
recommended starting point.
Turn on the fan switch before running, and ensure both fans are operating
2. Control Card
Plug a control card into the control card slot. Ensure firmware has been loaded per
instructions in user guide.
Connect control card to PC to operate the program.
Attach the voltage feedback cable between the buck/boost filter board and
motherboard
Set the two 3-pin jumpers near the BNC connectors to the "CTRLR" setting
Fans should operate automatically when testing starts. Ensure both fans are operating
