Using the CT to sense the current provides highly accurate switching loss measurements and
dynamic waveform analysis (rise and fall times, di/dt, dv/dt, Q
power testing. The current waveforms during power testing contain a significant DC component
so only the low-resistance shunt method can be used. See Section 5 for a detailed explanation of
the different current sensing methods supported in the SpeedVal Kit platform.
CAUTION! When the CT is installed on the power daughter card, connector CON11 should
not be left open or damage to the components and SpeedVal Kit™ PCBs can occur. The two
terminals at CON11 must be tied together after passing through the high-bandwidth AC
current transformer.

4.5. NTC TEMPERATURE SENSING

Each power daughter card contains or has provisions for a negative temperature coefficient
(NTC) resistor for sensing either the heatsink temperature (through-hole device daughter cards)
