Propeller
selection
The propeller is a critical compo-
nent of the propulsion system. It
converts the engine power in thrust.
To be efficient, the propeller must
be perfectly adapted to the boat
and to its use.
The performance of your engine
will be critically affected by the
choice of propeller, as an incor-
rect choice could also damage the
engine. Engine speed depends on
the propeller size and boat load. If
engine speed is too high or too low
for good engine performance, this
will have an adverse effect on the
engine.
The propeller should always allow
the engine to reach its rated speed
with the maximum boat load.A
faulty operation of the engine is
often due to an inadequate and / or
damaged propeller.
