Before you use this product

  • Temperature measuring of liquids, pastes and semisolid materials for household, business and hobby, also for food checks (according to HACCP).

  • The product is exclusively intended for the field of application described above. It should only be used as described within these instructions.
  • Unauthorised repairs, modifications or changes to the product are prohibited.
  • The product is not be used for medical purpose.


Risk of injury:

  • Keep this device and the batteries out of reach of children.
  • Take care when handling the probe.
  • Small parts can be swallowed by children (under three years old).
  • Batteries contain harmful acids and may be hazardous if swallowed. If a battery is swallowed, this can lead to serious internal burns and death within two hours. If you suspect a battery could have been swallowed or otherwise caught in the body, seek medical help immediately.
  • Batteries must not be thrown into a fire, short-circuited, taken apart or recharged. Risk of explosion!
  • Low batteries should be changed as soon as possible to prevent damage caused by leaking.
  • Never use a combination of old and new batteries together, nor batteries of different types.
  • Avoid contact with skin, eyes and mucous membranes when handling leaking batteries. In case of contact, immediately rinse the affected areas with water and consult a doctor.

Important information on product safety!

  • Do not expose the device to extreme temperatures, vibrations or shocks.
  • Only the probe is heat resistant until 200°C.
  • Never hold the probe directly over fire.
  • Do not immerse the display unit into water. Water can penetrate and cause malfunction. Protect from moisture. Not suitable for dishwasher.
  • Clean the device with a soft damp cloth. Do not use solvents or scouring agents.
  • Remove the batteries if you do not use the product for a lengthy period.
  • Keep the device in a dry place.

Installation

  • Remove the protective film from the display. Open the battery compartment (screwed) on the back of the instrument and remove the battery insulation strip. The instrument switches itself on and is immediately ready for operation.

Operation

Button ON/OFF: The instrument can be switched on and off with this button.

AUTO-OFF function: The instrument switches itself off automatically after approx. 15 minutes if no button has been pressed during this time.

Button (°C / °F): This button is provided for switchingover the display between °C and °F. The currently active temperature units are retained even after switch-off.

Button (MODE): Press the MODE button once in normal mode and the hold-function is activated (indicated by HOLD). Press the MODE button again and the maximum temperature is shown since the last reset (indicated by MAX). Press the MODE button again and the minimum temperature is shown since the last reset (indicated by MIN). Press the MODE button again to return to normal mode. To clear the maximum and minimum memory, press and hold the MODE button for 3 seconds in the corresponding mode while MAX or MIN is displayed (indicated by ---). Press the MODE button again to return to normal mode.

Disposal of the electrical device


Remove non-permanently installed batteries and rechargeable batteries from the device and dispose of them separately. This product is labelled in accordance with the EU Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment Directive (WEEE).

Please do not dispose of this product in ordinary household waste. As a consumer, you are required to take end-of-life devices to a designated collection point for the disposal of electrical and electronic equipment, in order to ensure environmentally-compatible disposal. Observe the current regulations in place!

Disposal of the batteries


Never dispose of empty batteries and rechargeable batteries with ordinary household waste. They contain pollutants which, if improperly disposed of, can harm the environment and human health. As a consumer, you are required by law to take them to your retail store or to an appropriate collection site depending on national or local regulations in order to protect the environment.

The symbols for the contained heavy metals are: Cd=cadmium, Hg=mercury, Pb=lead.
