Definition
A non-load break isolation switch used to connect, disconnect or ground parts of the Power Xpert IGX switchgear.
The OSHA standard for The Control of Hazardous Energy (Lockout/Tagout), Title 29 Code of Federal Regulations
(CFR) Part 1910.147, addresses the practices and procedures necessary to disable machinery or equipment, thereby
preventing the release of hazardous energy while employees perform servicing and maintenance .
Low voltage is defined as less than 600 volts
Medium voltage is defined as 600 - 100,000 volts
An interlock that prevents a closed CB from opening once the interlock is engaged
The prescribed rms. value of sinusoidal power frequency voltage that the equipment shall withstand during tests
made under specified conditions and for a specific time, usually not exceeding one minute.
In Power Xpert IGX medium voltage switchgear, a tank is a pressure container within which medium voltage
switchgear elements such as 3PS, CB and cable connector cones reside.
According to standard IEC 61243-5 the purpose of a VDS is to reliably check for the absence of voltage in a device.
The detector does not have a built-in indicator. Instead it can access information via a terminal on the front panel.
An instrument transformer that provides a LV secondary signal proportional to its MV primary connection
Tank where load bus is connected to external cables using connector cone bushings and inner-cone terminations
