Cables
For power cables, it is recommended to make use of specific cables for direct current according to ABNT
NBR 16612, unipolar cable, class 5 tinned, 90/120°C, with UV protection and 1.8kVcc insulation. Identifying
the positive cable with the red color and the negative cable with the black color. For level sensor cables, a
2-way PP control cable (1.5 mm²) can be used.
Connections
In motor pumps with external controllers, connections must be made using MC4 terminals at the output of
the solar panels and at the input of the controller.
In motor pumps with internal controllers, it is necessary to use MC4 terminals only at the output of the solar
panels.
For correct crimping of the MC4 connector on the cable, it is mandatory to use specific crimping pliers for the
application. Failure to use specific pliers for MC4 will compromise the quality and safety of the installation.
Splices
For the splice for the motor cable with the installation cable, use insulation putty, self-fusion tape and
insulating tape to obtain better insulation.
Cable length limit
Due to the voltage drop regarding the distance, it is recommended to follow the table below in the installation
sizing.
