This section describes the soft counter, MEAP counter, and toner bottle

counters.

Soft Counters

The imageRUNNER ADVANCE DX C3800 Series machines use soft
counters to track their functional copy use. The control panel displays up
to eight (8) counters on the Counter Status Check screen (when the
Counter Check key on the control panel is pressed). By default, the
imageRUNNER ADVANCE DX C3800 Series machines display six (6)
out of eight (8) counters on the Counter Status Check screen.
The table below describes the different counters that are available on the
imageRUNNER ADVANCE DX C3800 Series Counter Status Check
screen. A service technician can switch the Counters in Service Mode.
• The Type 1 counters (default counters): the 101 Counter and 108
Counter count one click for every letter or large paper.
• The Type 2 counters (alternative counters): the 102 Counter
and 109 Counter count one click for letter paper and two clicks for
large paper.
