    Installation Column Wall Mounting The Orthoralix 8500 is designed to mount to a wall or free-standing on the optional base plate. The wall mounted option is described below. NOTE: Verifying the wall support capability is the responsibility of the installer, refer to Pre-Installation on page 1-1.

Reinstall the socket screws into the column and tighten. Note the floor mount pins and the corresponding holes in the bottom column bracket.

    Orthoralix 8500 DDE Installation Manual Free Standing Mounting The Free Standing option, using Base Kit 110-0197G1, is described below. WARNING This device requires at least a two person lift. Remove mounting hardware from the top of existing base plate, and then remove existing wall mount base plate. Keep mounting hardware for reuse. Remove caster assembly and then replace mounting hardware back into column base.

Adjust the eight (8) leveling legs to level the device. Leveling legs are equipped with through- holes to permanently secure them to the floor, if desired.

    Installation Completing Installation 1. Remove top side cover mounting screws. 2. Slide cover out and set aside. Remove two mounting screws from shipping bracket which is securing the rotating arm. Remove three mounting screws and eye bracket and then remove shipping bracket from beneath.

CAUTION When mounting Patient Positioning Mirror, apply pressure at the corners only. Pressing the center of the mirror may cause the mirror to break. Align Patient Positioning Mirror to the mounting holes on the front of the column.

    Installation Electrical Power Connection The device is factory set to 230V AC but can easily be changed to 120V AC. The device can be hard wired for either 230V AC or 120V AC using suitable materials in accordance to local electrical codes.

    Orthoralix 8500 DDE Installation Manual 120V AC Power Cord Installation 1. To reconfigure the system, move the 120V AC power plug jumper from the 230V position to the 120V position. 2. A red tag on the jumper wire illustrates the configurations. Route the power cord through strain relief.

    Installation CCD Sensor Installation 1. Remove inner sensor cover (if mounted) by first removing mounting hardware (2 screws). 2. Pull cover to pop from the two retaining clips located inside.  CAUTION Use extreme care when removing outer sensor cover. Ribbon cable may be damaged if cover is not removed properly.

Apply power to the device (plug power cord into outlet/turn ON mains breaker). Press power switch to the ON position (bottom right of column).

Place the rear cover over the power supply section. 6. Position front cover and install mounting screw (both sides). Place top cover on rotating imaging assembly and install painted screws to fasten the cover in place.

    Chapter CCD Sensor Calibration The displayed mA parameter of the device is configured at the factory for the CCD sensor. This setting is reconfigured via internal switches and can be changed at the time of installation or at a later date. The sensor module installed on the device includes a digital sensor that has a unique signal gain.

    Alignment and Adjustments Parameter Adjustments Image quality is improved by using filters at the pre-processing stage prior to image delivery to VixWin or other imaging software in the GxPicture suite. This step provides the necessary adjustments to the contrast, brightness, and sharpness to the image. To obtain the best image possible, it is recommended that a patient scan be completed and then use this image to adjust the parameters.
