8.1.4 Filling the oil cooling circuit at the planetary gearbox using an external
pump
Before commissioning the planetary gearbox filled with lubricating oil, the oil
cooling circuit must be connected and filled with the required amount of
lubricating oil. The machine or vehicle manufacturer is responsible for this. To fill
the oil cooler and the lines with the lubricating oil to be used, start the oil pump
(not included in the Rexroth scope of delivery) for approx. 30s. Then repeat the
lubrication oil filling as described above under Filling the planetary gearbox with
lubricating oil and checking the oil level (see steps 1-8). If necessary, you must
repeat the process a second time to make sure there is enough lubricating oil in
the oil cooling circuit.
1
Let the ROTATRAC eGFT 8000 planetary gearbox run for approx. 5-10 minutes.
2
Allow the planetary gearbox to cool down to approx. 50°C after switching off.
3
Turn the planetary gearbox again as shown in the figure on the left: Bore 8 in 12
o'clock position and bore 9 in 9 o'clock position.
4
For checking the oil level, loosen the screw plug of the bore 9 slowly, so that any
existing pressure can be released. Then remove the screw plugs again from the
two bores 8 and 9. The oil level is correct if some lubricating oil escapes from the
bore 9 when the planetary gearbox is at standstill.
5
If the oil level is too low, fill lubricating oil via bore 8 until it drains from bore 9.
6
Check whether the seals on the screw plug threads of bore 8 and bore 9 are still
in perfect condition and can be reused. Replace the damaged seals.
7
Seal bore 8 and bore 9 with the corresponding screw plugs.
