Note:
• The flash needs to recharge after it is fired. If the Shutter button is pressed when the flash is
charging, the Flash Ready LED will blink. Wait for a short while, then press the Shutter button again to
take a picture.
• Some of the scene selection will deactivate the flash setting. For more information, refer to p. 20.

Description
The camera judges if a flash is required. If the environment is too dark,
the flash will fire.
Use this mode to reduce the occurrence of "red-eyes" when taking pictures

with a flash. The camera will automatically detect when the flash is needed
and the flash will fire after a short delay.
Flash will fire in any lighting condition. The "red-eye" reduction function also

included in this mode.
In this mode, the flash will not fire, regardless of the lighting condition. Use
this mode to capture the mood of ambient lighting. This mode is also useful
for places that prohibit flash photography, such as museums, aquarium,
archeological exhibitions, etc.
• To prevent blurry pictures in dim-lighting environment, hold the camera
steady when pressing the Shutter button or mount the camera on a tripod.
