3. Loosen the Monitor adjusting knob/1 and
determine the vertical position of the moni-
tor.
Tighten the Monitor adjusting knob/1 to
secure it.
XI. Network connection and setup
1. Connect the network cable.
There are two kinds of network functions: on the
Main body side (Machine NIC) and Printer con-
troller side (Controller NIC), and there are two
connector slots (RJ-45).
Depending on the user's purpose, connect the
network cable to either or both slots. (See the
table below for functions of NIC.)

Both the Controller NIC (outside) and the Machine
NIC (inside) have two LEDs (LED1 and LED2),
each of which represent the following conditions.
LED 1 (top): Displays communication speed
Orange (1Gbps)
Green (100Mbps)
OFF(10Mbps)
LED 2 (bottom): Displays the link state
Lighting (Network is connected)
Blinking (Data transfer state)
OFF (Network is disconnected)
2. IP address allocation
Note:
• Usually a dedicated administrator handles the
network and PC environment at the user end.
When conducting the following setup proce-
dure, always consult with proper personnel, get
approval, and operate under that person's
supervision.
• The Controller NIC has the DHCP function,
however the initial setting is OFF, so make sure
to implement network settings.
1. Press the [Utility/Counter] button.
2. Touch the "Administrator Setting" key.
3. Touch the "Network Setting" key.

Machine NIC setting
1. Touch the "Machine NIC Setting" key
to set the following items. After set-
tings are done, touch the "OK" key.
IP Address (IP address of the Main
body)
Subnet Mask (subnet mask for the
network)
Gateway Address (IP address of the
default gateway)
Controller NIC setting
1. Touch the "Controller NIC Setting"
key.
2. Touch the "TCP/IP Setting" key and
"Next" key to set the following items.
After settings are done, touch the
"OK" key.
IP Address (IP address of the con-
troller)
Subnet Mask (Subnet Mask for the
network)
Default Gateway (IP address of the
default gateway)
