During operation

1. Prepare the compressed gas cylinder that is to be tested. The
valve of the compressed gas cylinder must be closed.
2. Close the vent valve on the sample gas dosing device.
3. If necessary, attach to the sample gas dosing device the accom-
panying adapter (optional) for the compressed gas cylinder that is
to be measured.
4. Connect the sample gas dosing device to the compressed gas cyl-
inder.
5. Connect the connecting tube to the sample gas dosing device and
the hand pump adapter. In order to create a leak-proof connection,
the connecting tube must be inserted as far as possible.

6. Fasten the hand pump adapter to the Dräger X-am
ing to the Instructions for Use. The hand pump adapter must be
positioned onto the device in full. The ring on the carry clip is not
permitted to be trapped between the calibration adapter and the
device during the measurement.
7. Commission the Dräger X-am

8. Slowly and carefully open the cylinder valve on the compressed
gas cylinder that is to be tested. The manometer on the sample
gas dosing device indicates the corresponding pressure. Measure
the oxygen content using no more than 3190psi (220 bar).
The oxygen gas mixture flows through the measuring unit. The oxygen
content is displayed on the Dräger X-am

After the measurement

1. Close the cylinder valve of the compressed gas cylinder that is to
be tested.
2. Open the vent valve slowly and carefully.
3. When the manometer on the sample gas dosing device indicates
that the pressure has been released, the compressed gas cylinder
can be disconnected.
4. Remove the optional adapter and the connecting tube.
5. Switching off the Dräger X-am
To do this, hold down the »OK« button and »+« button until the
»3...2...1« countdown shown on the display has elapsed. Before
the device shuts down, the optical, acoustic and the vibration
alarm are activated briefly. After switching off the device, the bat-
teries should be left in the device. Otherwise, there is likely to be a
warm-up time for the sensor of 1 hour when the measuring device
is put back into operation. Fit the relevant protective caps or plugs
onto all other parts and stow back in the transport case.
OxyTest 2000 has been shut down and stowed away.
