5.1 Preparations for use

5.1.1 Preparing the test unit
● Open the compressed air supply at the high-
pressure inlet before testing.
5.1.2 Start the test software on the PC
When a test is launched using the test software, the
test unit is switched on automatically. There is no on/off
switch on the test unit.
NOTICE
Do not connect any breathing safety product to the test
unit's low pressure measuring points before launching
the software.
Each time the software is started, a zero adjustment is
automatically performed before the first test.

There is a risk of crushing to fingers when reaching into
the lung during operation.
► Only use a test unit with the test head attached.

5.1.3 Automatic preparation for use
Dräger recommends checking the software settings
before starting work with the test unit.
When a test is launched using the test software, the test
unit is switched on automatically for usage:
– When the software is started, all sensors are zeroed.
Except for the high-pressure inlet, the connections
must be depressurised at this point.
– The artificial lung is positioned.
When the test unit is connected to the PC and
supplied with power, the status LED lights up. The
different meanings of the colours of the status LED are
explained on the help pages (F1).

5.2 During use

The test procedure is described in the test software.
