Install the breather assembly
1. Install the new breather assembly, by fastening
the two bolts (1). Refer to Torque Specifications
Manual, "Standard torque for Metric Fasteners"
for the correct torque.
2. Install the top hose (2) and the bottom hose (6),
and tighten both clamps (3 and 5). Refer to the
Torque Specifications Manual, "Standard Torque
for Constant Torque Hose Clamps" for the correct
torques.
3. Install the outlet hose (not shown) for the breather.

Engine Crankcase Breather Element - Replace

Ensure that the components of the breather assembly
are installed in the correct positions. If installed incor-
rectly, engine damage can result.
Note: If necessary, remove the breather assembly.
Refer to OMM, "Engine Crankcase Breather
Replace".
Note: There are several vent holes under the top
cover (2) and under the side cover (6). Keep the area
around the vent holes clean. Do not restrict the vent
holes.
1. Remove all dirt and oil from the breather assembly.

Remove the top cover (2) by turning the top cover
counterclockwise until the lugs disengage. The
breather element includes an O ring. Remove the
breather element (4) by turning and lifting the
element. Discard the element. Clean the inner
surfaces of the breather body (5). Clean the top
cover and inspect the O ring (1) in the top cover. If
the O ring for the top cover is worn or damaged,
replace the O ring.
2. Lubricate the O ring (3) in the new filter element
(4) with clean engine lubricating oil. Carefully
insert the element into the breather body (5).
Lubricate the O ring (1) in the top cover with clean
engine lubricating oil. Carefully insert the top cover
(2) into the breather body (5). Rotate the top cover
clockwise until the lugs are fully locked.

Engine Mounts - Inspect

Note: The engine mounts may not have been
supplied for this installation by Perkins. Refer to the
OEM information for further information on the engine
mounts and the correct bolt torque.
Inspect the engine mounts for deterioration and for
correct bolt torque. Engine vibration can be caused
by the following conditions:
Improper mounting of the engine
Deterioration of the engine mounts

Any engine mount that shows deterioration should
be replaced. Refer to the OEM information for the
recommended torques.
