Rear spoiler

Applies to: vehicles with automatic rear spoiler

The rear spoiler increases the car's stability. The
rear spoiler is automatically extended at road
speeds above approximately 120 km/h. It is au­
tomatically retracted when the speed drops be­
low approximately 80 km/h.
You can also extend/retract the rear spoiler man­
ually:
To extend the spoiler, press the -::;;.l button brief­
ly.
► To retract the spoiler at speeds up to approx.
20 km/h, press and hold the-::;;.' • button. At
speeds of between approx. 20 km and approx.
120 km, press the�. button briefly.
Driver messages
If the warning/indicator lamp
and a corresponding message appears, the rear
spoiler may not have been extended due to a
malfunction. In this case, the car's handling may
be different at high speeds. Do not drive faster
than 140 km/h.
Something may be blocking the rear spoiler.

minutes until the vehicle's systems have shut
down completely. If the warning/indicator lamp
lights up again the next time you start the en­
gine, drive to a qualified workshop soon and have
the fault rectified. The colour of the lamp de­
pends on the current road speed.

WARNING
- Make sure that the rear spoiler is extended
at speeds above 140 km/h. Otherwise the
vehicle's stability will be impaired - risk of
accident!
- When extending or retracting the rear spoil­
er, please make sure that no persons or ob­
jects are close to the moving spoiler - risk of
injury!
CD CAUTION
- If you need to push the vehicle, never put
your weight on the rear spoiler - risk of
damage!
- Do not lean against the rear spoiler or place
any weight on it - risk of damage!
- When extending and retracting the rear
spoiler, make sure that the boot lid is closed
and that no persons or objects are close to
the moving spoiler - risk of damage!

Power management

Your vehicle is equipped with an intelligent pow­
er management system to control the distribu­
tion of electrical energy. This significantly im­
proves reliability when starting the engine, and
also prolongs the life of the vehicle battery.

Note
the vehicle is driven frequently on short
- If
trips, the battery may not be sufficiently
charged while driving. In this case, certain
convenience functions for electrical equip­
ment may be temporarily unavailable.
the vehicle is left standing for long peri­
- If
ods, or if electrical equipment is used with­
out running the engine, the battery will
gradually lose its charge. To ensure that the
vehicle can be started, the electrical equip­
ment is powered back or switched off.
