15. TROUBLESHOOTING

In the event of any problems or concerns, please check the following before contacting your dealer.
Trouble
Spindle does not run.
Overheating during
rotation.
Abnormal vibration
or noise during rotation.
Drill slippage.
Excessive drill run-out.
Coolant is not
discharged from the
end of the cutting drill.
Refer also to the Brushless Motor and E3000 CONTROLLER Operation Manual.
Cause
The ball bearings are
damaged.
Motor is broken.
Collet nut contact or
seizure occurred.
Cutting debris has
contaminated the ball
bearings, and the ball
bearings are damaged.
Using bent drill.
Cutting debris has
contaminated the ball
bearings.
The ball bearings are worn.
Collet or collet nut is not
correctly installed.
The collet and collet nut are
worn.
The cutting drill is bent.
Collet nut is not correctly
installed.
The collet and collet nut are
worn.
Inside of the spindle is
worn.
Debris inside the collet,
collet nut or spindle.
The ball bearings are worn.
The cutting drill is damaged
or clogged.
Insufficient coolant
pressure.
High-pressure pump failed.
Coolant filter is clogged.
Inspection / Corrective Action
Replace the ball bearings.
(Return to NAKANISHI dealer service.)
Replace the motor.
(Return to NAKANISHI dealer service.)
Replace the collet nut.
Or, replace the spindle.
(Return to NAKANISHI dealer service.)
Replace the ball bearings.
(Return to NAKANISHI dealer service.)
Replace the cutting drill.
Replace the ball bearings.
(Return to NAKANISHI dealer service.)
Check and clean the collet and collet nut,
then properly retighten the collet.
Replace the collet and collet nut.
Replace the cutting drill.
Secure the collet and collet nut correctly.
Replace the collet and collet nut.
Replace the spindle shaft.

Clean the collet, collet nut and the inside
of the spindle.
Replace the ball bearings.
(Return to NAKANISHI dealer service.)
Replace the cutting drill.
Check and adjust the coolant pressure.
Contact the manufacturer for repair.
Clean or replace the filter.
