Activating/deactivating the system coding

Activating/deactivating the coding

In the Set-up menu Security you can activate the coding for your TravelPilot. If
the coding is active, it will not be possible to start the system after it has been
disconnected from the vehicle battery unless the correct code number is en-
tered (refer to "Switching on coded systems after they have been disconnected
from the vehicle battery").
Note: Because the TravelPilot has not been equipped with any oth-
er theft-protection system, we strongly recommend that you acti-
vate the coding.
To activate/deactivate the coding,
Mark the menu item CODE in the Set-up menu Security and
Press the right-hand rotary/pushbutton ;.
The coding will be activated/deactivated. The current setting will be displayed
behind CODE . For security reasons, it will now be necessary to enter the code
to confirm this selection. OFF is the default setting, i.e. the code is not activated.

Reset to factory settings

You can reset the TravelPilot to its original factory settings. This will affect all of
the settings made for navigation and the audio sources.
Select RESET from the Set-up menu.
Step 1: If a navigation CD is inserted in the system, you will be asked whether or
not you want to reset the settings for navigation. This will affect the entire desti-
nation memory and the route options. If there is no navigation CD in the system,
the next inquiry will appear immediately.
If you want to delete the settings, select YES .
To keep the settings made for navigation, select CANCEL .
