3 Unpacking, inspection and storage

3.1
PDCOM requires careful handling.
1. Examine the delivered products to ensure that
they have not been damaged during transport.
2. Remove the transport packing carefully without
force.
The cardboard packaging material is 100%
recyclable.

The Serial Number is an important traceability tool
for the user and for manufacturer.

The identification label of PDCOM is
behind the PDCOM. The label gives the
following information: part number,
serial number and product code.
3.3
Checking delivery items
Check that the items received comply with those
listed in the delivery documents.
3.4
Inspecting the device
PDCOM requires careful handling before installation
on site.
• Check the device to see if any damage occurred
during transportation
If the device has been damaged during
transportation, lodge a claim with the transport
contractor, and notify the local ABB representative.
3.5
Returning devices damaged
in transit
If damage has occurred during transport,
appropriate actions must be taken against the final
carrier. Please inform the nearest ABB office or
representative. ABB should be notified immediately
if there are any discrepancies in relation to the
delivery documents.
3.6
Storage
If PDCOM is stored before installation, it must be
kept in its original transport packaging in a dry and
dust free place. Comply with the environmental
requirements given in the technical manual.
