9.1
During the product lifecycle, the time will come
when PDCOM must be upgraded to a next
generation. Although this will not be required until
some 10 years after installation, it is wise to already
consider the product lifecycle when investing on the
original product.
Specific options are given in the specific Service &
Support sheet of the ABB Product Guide.
9.2
The device information includes details about the
device, such as version and serial number. PDCOM
information is available using the corresponding
software tools (Monitoring or Configuration tools).
See the Operation Manual for further details.

Turn off the power
2. Detach the power connector
3. Disconnect sensor cables, serial cables and
power supply plugs, unscrew the earthing strip.
4. Remove the device from the front door.

9.4 Repairs
Contact the nearest ABB or representative for
consultation and instructions if the product
develops faults.
9.5 Replacement of the device
To replace PDCOM with another identical unit, first
remove the device itself and then install the new
one. The configuration can be copied from the old
one. Use the configuration tool as explained in the
Engineering Manual.
