6.3 SENSITIVITY ADJUSTMENT OF THE DISC DETECTION SENSOR OF THE
CARRIAGE BASE
• Objective
: Adjust the output of the phototransistor (light receiving side) with VR851 on the DCMB BOARD ASSY. (See Fig.4,
page 74.) Refer to the dot on the lower right corner of the mode indicator for monitoring the sensor output.
• Preparation : Make the disc for adjustment available.
Set the unit to Step Operation Mode ( 40 + ENT ).
(1) Insert the disc for adjustment in the disc stocker, for example, into slot No.1 (f).
(2) Move the carriage base to the disc position (for example, 1 + ENT ), and pull the disc into the carriage base ( ENT ).
(3) Monitor the dot. When the dot is lit, turn the half-fixed variable VR851 a little counterclockwise. When the dot is not lit, turn VR851 a
little clockwise (h).
(4) Return the disc for adjustment to the disc stocker ( ESC + ESC ).
(5) Pull the disc back into the carriage base ( ENT + ENT ).
(6) Repeat steps (3) and (4) until the dot goes dark when it had been lit, or until the dot lights when it had been dark. Be sure that VR851 is fixed
within ±10 degrees of the dot-lighting reverse point.
6.4 SENSITIVITY ADJUSTMENT OF THE DISC-OUT SENSOR
• Objective
: Adjust the LED output (light emitting side) using VR101 of the HMCB UNIT. Set the threshold value of the sensor to match
the transmission factor for the combination of the disc for adjustment and the filter for adjustment.
• Preparation : Make a disc and a filter for adjustment available.
Remove the disc stocker.
(1) Set the disc for adjustment and the filter for adjustment together so that they block the optical axis of the LED (f), (g).
(2) Turn VR101 completely counterclockwise, then turn it clockwise little by little until the voltage of TP101 in relation to GND becomes 3.5
V ± 0.2 V (h).
Note : The setting value is indicated on the package of a disc for adjustment. If the indicated setting value is not 3.5 V, adjust
VR101 until the voltage becomes the indicated value ± 0.2 V.
6.5 VOLTAGE ADJUSTMENT OF THE SW POWER OUTPUT
• Objective
: Adjust the output using RV3 on the PWR BOARD ASSY (DWR1277).
• Preparation : Remove the rear cover. (See "PWR BOARD ASSY" of "Removal of Each Part," page 92.)
(1) Turn the power to the unit on.
(2) Turn RV3 until the difference in voltage between Pin 1 (+5 V) and Pin 2 (GND) of CN3 becomes +5.2 V ±0.05 V (h).
Note : This adjustment must be done only when the PWR BOARD ASSY (DWR1277) is replaced.
