3. Starting and Operating the Download Software - download.exe

Downloading Code To The IRD
Download.exe is a command line base utility. To use it follow the steps below.
1. Start a command prompt window.
2. Change to the directory containing the download.exe utility and the software to be downloaded.
3. Type a command in the form
KEY: <command> -wbo
-wrs
<filename>
filename and path including the file extension
<port>
the com port to which the IRD is connected

(not required if the IRD is connected to com1)
4. After each download process the IRD will restart (or reboot).
5. Be careful not do interrupt the power during the code writing process.
Interruption of the download process
Be careful not to interrupt the code writing process of a boot code download. This will result in invalid boot code being stored in the flash
and will prevent the unit booting. This is unlikely due to the short time this process takes (less than one second).
Interruption of resident software download should not cause a problem at any stage.
Examples of terminal display:
