4 Accessories

4.1 Optional A ccessories

There are many different t ypes of h umidifiers, o xygen tubing, c annulas
and masks t hat c an be used with this d evice. You should contact
your l ocal h ome care supplier f or r ecommendations o n which of
these devices w ill b e best f or you. They should also give you advice
on the proper u sage, m aintenance, a nd cleaning.
The supply accessories ( nasal c annula, m ask, t ubing, h umidifier, e tc.)
used to deliver o xygen to the patient n eed to include a means t o
reduce the propagation of f ire in the accessories for the safety of t he
patient a nd others. If a commercially available, f ire-activated flow
stop device is u sed in the accessories s etup, i t s hould be placed as
close to the patient a s p racticable.
