7.5 Cleaning and Disinfection Between Patients

concentrator:
– Only qualified personnel should perform cleaning
and disinfection of t he oxygen concentrator a nd
accessories b etween patients.
Follow these instructions t o eliminate possible pathogen
exchange between patients d ue to contamination of
components or accessories. Preventive maintenance should
also be performed at t his t ime if n ecessary.
Dispose of a nd replace all p atient s ide accessories n ot s uitable 1.
for multiple patient u se, i ncluding but n ot l imited to:

Perform maintenance procedures d escribed in this m anual a nd 2.
items o n the Preventive Maintenance Checklist
Check concentrator for possible external d amage or signs that i t 3.
may require service or r epair.
Ensure concentrator f unctions p roperly and all a larms a re in 4.
working order.
Before repackaging and distribution to new patient, ensure 5.
packaging contents contain the concentrator and user manual.
