Configuration Management
This section describes the tasks required to configure video for the Ad Hoc
conferencing and Meet Me conferencing services.
More than one MAS may be pooled for a subdomain, and, in this case,
load balancing among the servers is performed to, for example, select the
least-utilized server for hosting a MAS conference. Because of this, all
servers pooled within the same subdomain must be provisioned identically
(that is, all provisioned with video for conferencing or all provisioned without
video for conferencing). If this is not done, the situation may arise that a
subscriber or not have video available based solely on which server within a
pool happens to be selected at any given time; the subscriber could have
video available one time, but not have it available the next time.
The availability of video is subject to how the servers in the pool are
keyed through their respective license keys. That is, if the servers are not
keyed to enable video, then video not be available for MAS conferencing,
regardless of whether video conferencing is enabled through service
package provisioning.
If video is enabled through the Management Console for each server for
conferencing, then all servers pooled for a subdomain must be configured
likewise through their respective Management Consoles.
If the use of video is provisioned for a subdomain, a mix of audio-only and
audio/video conferences can be supported (the audio-only conferences
are simply audio/video conferences with no video present). However, a
subdomain that is not provisioned with video can obviously only host audio
conferences.
Network configuration
Network configuration is unchanged; see the individual MAS service
documents for more information.
