Environmental Conditions

The following topics describe the environmental, grounding, and power
requirements of the Nortel Application Gateway 1000:

The environment in which the Application Gateway operates must meet
the following general conditions:
Ventilating openings on the Application Gateway must be free of

obstructions.
Temperature must be maintained between 0° and 35° C (32° and
•
98° F).
Humidity must be between 5% and 95% at 30° C non-condensing.
•
The Application Gateway must not be subject to constant vibration.
•
The Application Gateway and other system equipment must be
•
located at least 12 ft. (3.66 m) away from sources of electrostatic,
electromagnetic, or radio frequency interference. These sources can
include:
power tools
–
appliances (such as vacuum cleaners)
–
office business machines (such as copying machines)
–
elevators
–
air conditioners and large fans
–
radio and TV transmitters
