Manually Mounting a CD on Solaris

If the Volume Manager does not automatically mount the CD, stop the vold
daemon and manually mount the CD as follows:
Log in as root by entering:
1.
su
At the password prompt, enter your root password.

Display the daemon's process ID by entering:

ps -ef
If there is a process running for the vold daemon, enter:

kill <process_id>
If a subdirectory does not already exist for the CD, create one by

entering:
mkdir /cdrom
Mount the CD by entering:

mount -F hsfs -o ro /dev/dsk/ <cd_address> /cdrom

Copying Router Files to a UNIX Workstation

To copy router files from the CD to a UNIX workstation:
Using the UNIX
1.
Versalar 15000 files.
For example, to create a directory called v15k_files, enter:
mkdir v15k_files
For information about the
documentation or to the UNIX online man pages.
Insert the CD into the CD-ROM drive.

Mount the CD.
3.
For instructions, see "Mounting a CD (UNIX Only)" on -3.
Change directories by entering:

cd /cdrom

grep vold
command, create a directory to contain the
mkdir
mkdir
command, refer to your UNIX system
