The Nortel Networks
router designed to provide access, traffic management, and accounting
information for over 1000 simultaneous IP sessions. Carrier Networking Services
is the software for the Versalar Switch Router 15000.
This guide provides instructions for upgrading the Versalar 15000 to Carrier
Networking Services V15K_1.3.0.0.

Before You Begin

You can upgrade or reinstall Carrier Networking Services from the CD using the
instructions in this guide.

For a new Versalar 15000:

If you received the CD as part of an upgrade, use the CD to upgrade the
Versalar 15000 to Carrier Networking Services V15K_1.3.0.0.
If you received the CD with a new Versalar 15000, you can use the CD to
reinstall Carrier Networking Services V15K_13.0.0. (The software is also
distributed on the flash memory card included with a new router.)
Install the Versalar 15000 and connect it to the network (see Installing and
Maintaining the Versalar Switch Router 15000).
Develop a working knowledge of the BCC
and Differentiated Services for the Versalar Switch Router 15000 and the
Quick Reference for the Versalar Switch Router 15000).
Configure the Versalar 15000 for management (see Configuring Management
and Differentiated Services for the Versalar Switch Router 15000).
