SensePlayer – User Manual SELVAS Healthcare 1. Introduction. Thank you for purchasing the SensePlayer OCR multi-player. The SensePlayer is a digital audio player and portable OCR device manufactured by the HIMS division of SELVAS Healthcare. It is a small, lightweight portable device which can play digital books, music files, document files, DAISY content, FM radio, and can scan and recognize printed text and text image files with the built-in 13 megapixel camera and OCR software.

"OCR" refers to Optical Character Recognition, which simply means the recognition of letters in an image, and the conversion of these letters to text.
