To avoid this, leave the SensePlayer connected to the AC adapter for about three hours with the unit turned on. If you want to use the SensePlayer immediately, you may use it while it is charging.

SensePlayer – User Manual SELVAS Healthcare 1. Introduction. Thank you for purchasing the SensePlayer OCR multi-player. The SensePlayer is a digital audio player and portable OCR device manufactured by the HIMS division of SELVAS Healthcare. It is a small, lightweight portable device which can play digital books, music files, document files, DAISY content, FM radio, and can scan and recognize printed text and text image files with the built-in 13 megapixel camera and OCR software.

File Manager The SensePlayer'S File Manager allows you to explore the content of your internal flashdisk as well as any SD card or USB drive connected to SensePlayer. Pressing OK on a supported file type or a folder of supported DAISY, Media, or document files automatically launches the program in which that file or folder is playable, and the content begins playing.

If you turn this option off, content analysis is still performed when using the Explorer in specific programs like the Media Player, DAISY Player, and Document Reader to identify content playable in those programs.

You may find it cumbersome to manually move through all the available channels, especially if you have specific stations you know you like to listen to. "OCR" refers to Optical Character Recognition, which simply means the recognition of letters in an image, and the conversion of these letters to text. The SensePlayer accomplishes this by snapping a photo of a page of text with its built-in 13 mega-pixel camera, and processing it through its included OCR software.

You can capture an image using the SensePlayer camera in 2 ways: either by physically holding the SensePlayer in an optimal position for taking a picture, or using the optional OCR stand.

If recognition seems to be poor, try turning the flash off to establish more appropriate lighting and better recognition.

Podcasts are available on any number of topics including news, politics, music, books, technology, cooking, and an unlimited number of individual casts covering very specific personal interests.
SensePlayer – User Manual SELVAS Healthcare 11.2 Subscribing to Podcasts. Podcast feed address information must be stored in the “Podcast” folder on the SensePlayer internal flashdisk. You can paste the Podcast XML addresses directly, or copy an OPML created by another pod catching application, and the podcasts will be imported automatically when you next open the Podcast application on the SensePlayer.

To view the content for a feed, press the Right arrow. To update a feed, press the “OK” key. If you are connected to the Internet, the feed is updated.

The “Library services” menu allows patrons of libraries that use the online DAISY protocol or other online interfaces to access and download content directly to the SensePlayer. The presence of this menu and the options in it depend on the country in which you are located and the libraries supported.

The available categories will depend on the library you are viewing, however, no matter what library service you are using, you are placed in the category list after logging in, and you can move among the categories using the Left and Right arrows.

When the Sleep timer is opened, use the left and Right arrows to choose a time for the Sleep Timer: Off, 3 minutes, 5 minutes, 10 minutes, 15 minutes, 20 minutes, 30 minutes, 45 minutes, 60 minutes, 90 minutes, 120 minutes, 150 minutes or 180 minutes.
