11 Adjusting the sound

Using the Sound Field Control

EV21DVD model only
Depending on the source you're listening to,
you may want to use the Sound Field Control
to match the source you're listening to.
• Press SFC repeatedly to select a
sound mode.
The options are as follows:
• SFC OFF – (SFC indicator disappears)
• ACTION – Good for action movies or
movies with lots of sound effects
• DOME – Can be used with music to give
a 'live' feel to the sound source
• DRAMA – Good for movies with lots of
dialogue
• KARAOKE – Reduces the level of vocal
tracks on pre-recorded music
• USER 1 – Custom settings 1 (see Saving
your sound preferences, previous page)
• USER 2 – Custom settings 2 (see Saving
your sound preferences, previous page)
Switching off the center
speaker
EV21DVD model only
If you want to listen to a stereo source
through the front left and right speakers only,
you can switch off the center speaker
• Press CENTER SP (SHIFT+MONO on
the remote control) to switch on/off the
center speaker.

Adjusting the effect level

EV51DVD model only
You can adjust the effect level of the
Music, Movie and Expanded Advanced
Surround DSP effects to get the sound that
you want.
1 Press SOUND MODE repeatedly to
select EFFECT.
You can also use the
buttons on the remote to select a menu item
after you've pressed SOUND MODE.
(remote) or 4/1 and
2 Use
/
¡/¢ (front panel) to adjust the DSP
effect level.
The DSP effect level can be adjusted from 10
(min) to 90 (max).
3 Press ENTER.

Boosting the bass level

EV51DVD model only
• Default setting: BOOST ON
If you want to bring up the low end for
certain kinds of music or sound sources, you
can use the bass boost to do so.
1 Press SOUND MODE repeatedly to
select BOOST ON or BOOST OFF.
You can also use the
buttons on the remote to select a menu item
after you've pressed SOUND MODE.

ON or OFF.
3 Press ENTER.
