MODELS ICB427 AND ICB427R SEALED SYSTEM COMPONENTS
NOTE:
Always replace the refrigerant valve assembly (which includes the filter-drier), when servicing a wine storage
sealed system. On the model ICB427R, Always replace the high-side filter-drier when servicing the refrigerator
sealed system.
Evaporator Access and Removal
(Models ICB427 & ICB427R)
An evaporators is mounted to the rear wall of each wine
storage compartment with screws. In the model
ICB427R, there is also an evaporator in the refrigerator
section, also mounted with screws.
To remove an evaporator
1. Evacuating refrigerant from sealed system.
2. Remove thermistor from evaporator.
3. Extract evaporator mounting screws.
4. Use a file to score a line around capillary tube
approximately 25 mm (1'') or less from evaporator
inlet, then fatigue capillary tube at this line until it
separates.
5. Use a tube-cutter to cut suction tube 25 mm (1'') or
less from evaporator outlet, and pull evaporator
from compartment.
NOTE:
Sweating the joints apart is not recommended
as this may induce moisture into the sealed system and
could cause a solder restriction in the capillary tube.
Wine Storage Refrigerant Valve Assembly (Includes
Filter-Drier) (Models ICB427 & ICB427R)
The refrigerant valve assembly is secured to the unit
tray with screws.
To remove the refrigerant valve assembly, it may help to
slide the unit tray out slightly, then
1. Evacuating refrigerant from sealed system.
2. With a tube-cutter, cut filter-drier inlet.
3. At refrigerant valve assembly, use a file to score a
line around the capillary tubes, 25 mm (1'') or less
from valve outlets, then fatigue capillary tubes at
this line until they separates.
NOTE:
After capillary tube separates, check tubing for
internal burrs. If burrs exist, repeat step above.
NOTE:
Sweating the joints apart is not recommended
as this may induce moisture into the sealed system and
could cause a solder restriction in the capillary tube.
NOTE:
Check the end of the remaining capillary tubes
for internal burrs. If burrs exist, rescore a line around
the capillary tube approximately 25 mm (1'') from the
end and fatigue the capillary tube at this new line until
it separates.
