Setting up the TR3 for Operations with Hydraulic Scarifiers –
Step 1 – Take the TR3 to the area that the tool will be used. Lower the TR3 down until the wheels rest on the
ground fully, with the scarifiers raised. Before making any other adjustments, make sure the leveling blade and the
finish rake are both touching the ground at the same time. If the leveling blade and the finish rake are not touching
the ground at the same time refer to section "Attaching and Setting up the TR3" above for information on leveling
the TR3 for use.
Step 2 – Using the hydraulic controls, lower the scarifiers while moving forward over the work area. Allow the
scarifiers to go into the material a little at a time to prevent setting the depth to deep. The scarifiers should be
adjusted in 1" increments to prevent setting the depth too deep. To check the depth of the scarifiers into the
material, adjust the scarifiers down using the hydraulic controls and pull the TR3 forward 3-5'. Check the area the
scarifiers have broken up the material to confirm how deep they are penetrating the surface. Adjust the scarifiers
up or down as needed to reach the desired depth. Make sure to confirm the operating depth of the scarifiers after
every adjustment to confirm the depth is set correctly for the work area.
PUSHING MATERIAL BACKWARDS:
Make sure the material has been loosened before attempting to push material with the TR3!
Step 1 - Raise the TR3 off the Ground 2-3" and extend out the Top Link until the Finish Rake is pressing on the
ground firmly.
Step 2 - Make sure the scarifiers are not inserted in the ground and not touching the ground. The scarifiers may
need to be moved up to prevent them from contacting the ground while pushing backward with the TR3.
Step 3 - Push the material back slowly using the Finish Rake of the TR3.
If pushing back on a hard pack surface, or area with large rocks; going too fast could result in
damage to the TR3 or Tractor. Use caution to not hit large rocks, trees, embedded objects, or other
objects that may not be movable. Always use caution when pushing material backwards with the TR3!
