DO NOT operate y our radio near electric blasting
caps, or in a blasting ar ea, to a void the possibility of
triggering an explosion. Tur n your radio OFF when
in a "blasting ar ea" or in ar eas wher e such
requir ements ar e posted.
Tur n your radio OFF and do not r eplace the battery
when in any ar ea with a potentially explosi ve
atmospher e. It is rar e, but your radio or its
accessories could generate sparks which might
trigger an explosion.
Areas with a potentially explosi ve atmospher e ar e
often, b ut not always, clearly mark ed. They include
ar eas such as belo w deck on boats, fuel or chemical
transfer or storage facilities, and ar
contains chemicals or particles, such as grain, dust,
or metal po wders.
Do not transport or stor e flammable gas, liquid, or
explosives in the compartment of y our v ehicle that
contains y our radio or accessories.
Vehicles powered by liquefi ed petr oleum gas (such as
pr opane or b utane) must comply with the National
