    Charging Your i1000 Battery To charge the battery that came with your Nextel phone: 1. Attach the adapter plug to the charger. If the adapter plug is already assembled, skip this step and go to step 2.

    Automatic Redial If you receive a “System Busy, Try Later” message, press to have your Nextel phone automatically redial the number. The phone redials every thirty seconds until the call goes through. You will hear a ring tone when the call is successful.

    RECEIVING A PHONE CALL When your i1000 rings or vibrates, you can answer the phone call with the cover closed or open. For your answering options, see Table 2. If the caller’s number and name are stored in your Phone List and the number matches the Caller ID*, the name displays.

    PROGRAMMING YOUR OWN PHONE NUMBER Your new Nextel phone may need to have your number entered. This is a one-time activity that can be performed using the following instructions. Or, you can wait for your first incoming call, when it is automatically entered.

    Ring Selection With your i1000, you even have a choice on how you’d like to be notified of incoming calls.Your Nextel phone has nine selectable ring styles. Customers with Additional Line can use the same ring style or different ring styles for each phone line, so you can tell which line is ringing.

    3. Press under “Selct”. Pressing “Selct” allows you to set individual Vibration Alerts for incoming calls and messages. The first vibration selection is Vibe. To view the Vibe/Ring alert choices, press on the keypad. MENU The vibration selection that you make affects only the current mode.

    TURNING OFF GROUP AND PRIVATE MODES (PHONE ONLY MODE) Your Nextel phone has a special feature, Phone Only mode, that allows you to turn off the Private and Group modes. You can make and receive phone calls and receive voice mail alerts and text and numeric pages.

SETTING TIME AND DATE FORMAT IMPORTANT: The Time and Date feature is not currently active on your i1000 and it does not appear on your display. Once this feature is activated, your i1000 will automatically display the local time and date.

Display CallerÕs Name A caller’s name will only be displayed on your Nextel phone if it has previously been programmed on your phone list with the caller’s 10-digit regular phone number (703-555-9999) or their 11-digit Nextel number (1-703-555-9999).

Your Nextel phone number cannot be blocked from calls made to 911, 800, 877, 888, or 900 phone numbers.     CONNECT PRIVATE CALL CALLING LIST Every Nextel subscriber has a unique identification number up to 5 digits in length specifically for this service. We refer to them here as IDs.     ACCESSORIES BATTERIES MOTOROLA BATTERIES Description/Chemistry Slim Lithium Ion (500mAh) Standard Lithium Ion (900mAh) * Charging time indicated how long it takes to charge a battery from no charge to full charge. • It is recommended that the batteries be charged within the temperature range of 10°C to 40 °C (50°F to 104 °F).

    The Travel Charger allows a battery to be charged from an AC outlet. On one end of the travel charger, an accessory connector attaches to the bottom of the Nextel phone. At the other (AC outlet) end of the device is a compact housing containing the charging circuitry and a plug-in power supply.

    Lithium Ion battery. The Vehicular Battery Charger is a power supply that allows the Nextel phone’s internal charger to charge the battery. The power light (green LED) will light when the Vehicular Battery Charger is receiving power.

When it is ON, it receives, and also transmits, radio frequency (RF) energy. The radio operates in the frequency range of 806MHz to 866MHz, and employs digital modulation techniques.
